Abstract

The article focuses on the competitive advantages organizations can gain by employing people with disabilities, a group often overlooked in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. It highlights four key benefits: unique skills linked to certain disabilities, enhanced organizational culture and psychological safety, improved customer value proposition through genuine inclusiveness, and increased attractiveness to investors and talent, particularly within environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks. Case studies from various companies worldwide illustrate how hiring disabled employees can boost collaboration, customer loyalty, and reputation, while also addressing common misconceptions that such employment is merely a social cause rather than a strategic business advantage.
