Abstract
The article focuses on research aimed at optimizing brain health for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, addressing the high rates of cognitive impairment and dementia (CI/D) in this population. Conducted through a stepped-wedge cluster randomized controlled trial involving 12 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services (ACCHSs) across Australia, the study evaluated a culturally responsive model of dementia care using the integrated-Promoting Action on Research Implementation in Health Services (i-PARIHS) Framework. Findings indicated that the intervention improved dementia management and was well-received by ACCHS staff, despite challenges related to implementation context. The research highlights the importance of community engagement and culturally informed practices in enhancing dementia care in primary settings. [Extracted from the article]
