Abstract
According to lawmakers, British customers are expressing confusion and dissatisfaction with substitute bank branches located in unconventional places such as a garden center and a former public toilet. The MPs criticized the banks for forcing customers to wait in the rain and lacking the necessary privacy for discussing financial matters. However, banking executives argue that the shift towards online banking has made many branches unnecessary, with the UK losing over half of its network since 2015. Banking hubs, introduced in 2021, aim to provide financial services in areas where customers can no longer access cash, with almost 40 hubs currently in operation. [Extracted from the article]
