Abstract
The article examines the complex working relationship between W. M. Ramsay and A. C. Blunt during their 1881 expedition to Asia Minor, highlighting their interactions with the Hellenic Society. Initially, the Society provided financial support and appointed Blunt as an artist for the expedition, but tensions arose over budget overruns and differing expectations regarding Blunt's contributions. Ramsay expressed dissatisfaction with Blunt's artistic skills and management of logistics, while Blunt contested Ramsay's claims about their collaboration. Despite these challenges, the expedition's outcomes included published illustrations and a recognition of Ramsay's archaeological contributions, leading to further support for his work. The article also provides brief biographical details about both Ramsay and Blunt, emphasizing their respective roles in archaeology and art. [Extracted from the article]
