Abstract

The article focuses on research examining the relationship between immigration and autism rates in Manitoba, Canada. The study analyzed data from the Rehabilitation Centre for Children and an immigration registry, finding that among 2,408 diagnosed children, 47% had at least one immigrant parent. The research indicated that Canadian-born children of immigrant parents had the highest autism risk, followed by immigrant children, with the likelihood of diagnosis increasing when both parents were immigrants. The study suggests further investigation into similar trends in other Canadian regions and the underlying factors contributing to this association. [Extracted from the article]
