Abstract

This article explores the role of leader humility in helping employees adapt during periods of disruption and crisis. Drawing on two studies conducted during the return to in-person work after the COVID-19 pandemic, the research finds that employees who perceived their leaders as humble were less likely to consider quitting and demonstrated stronger performance outcomes. By acknowledging employee challenges and fostering collaboration, humble leaders enhanced organizational connection, reduced turnover, and improved overall employee effectiveness.
