Abstract
According to industry consultant Enverus, oilfield-service costs for US shale drillers are expected to increase by 2.8% in 2025. This comes after a reduction in drilling and fracking this year, which led to a 6.3% decrease in per-well costs for shale operators. The decrease in costs was due to an oversupply of fracture sand. However, Enverus predicts that drilling will accelerate in 2025, leading to a rebound in prices. The number of onshore rigs drilling for oil and gas in the US has already fallen by 6% this year.
