Abstract
The Joseph Blake Water Treatment Plant in Highlands Ranch, Colorado recently completed Phase 1A improvements to enhance its pretreatment process and increase capacity. The upgrades involved replacing aging tube settlers with lamella plates and replacing the floating decanter system in the solids separation basin. The improvements have resulted in improved water quality and the ability to consistently treat higher flows. The project was completed in the spring of 2024 and cost $17.3 million. The plant now has a staff of 2 supervisory control and data acquisition system technicians, 3 maintenance technicians, and 5 operators. [Extracted from the article]
