Abstract

The article focuses on evidence-based reading strategies designed to support literacy in Career and Technical Education (CTE) classrooms. It highlights the challenges faced by students, particularly English learners and those with disabilities, in navigating complex technical texts that are essential for their training and safety. The article presents five effective strategies—text feature analysis, compare and contrast, graphic organizers, think-alouds, and scaffolded practice—that instructors can implement to enhance comprehension and confidence among students.
