Abstract

This article focuses on the challenges African immigrants face in accessing cardiovascular disease (CVD) preventive services in developed countries and explores potential intervention strategies to address these gaps. It identifies factors such as migration-related lifestyle changes, socio-economic conditions, cultural dietary habits, language barriers, low health and digital literacy, and limited culturally tailored programs as contributors to increased CVD risk in this population. The paper emphasizes the need for multifaceted approaches including culturally sensitive prevention programs, enhanced community engagement, language-appropriate health information, and supportive policies to improve cardiovascular health outcomes. It also highlights the importance of integrating mental health services and calls for future research to develop evidence-based interventions that consider the unique experiences of African immigrants.
