Abstract
The article discusses the growing salary disparity between interior designers and architects in the UK, with interior designers earning, on average, 10-20 percent more than architects. This trend is attributed to the ability of interior designers to effectively communicate the direct benefits of their work to clients, such as increased property values and enhanced marketability. In contrast, architects often face challenges in demonstrating the tangible value of their designs, despite their significant contributions to community development and identity. The article suggests that architects can enhance their perceived value through targeted post-occupancy evaluations and by effectively communicating the emotional and strategic benefits of their designs to clients.
