Abstract

This article focuses on research from the University of California, Irvine, examining the impact of housing instability on mental health outcomes and treatment access among youth aged 6-17 in the United States. Using data from the 2022 National Survey of Children's Health, the study found that children experiencing housing instability have significantly higher odds of anxiety and depression and face substantial barriers to receiving mental health services. The research highlights the potential for digital mental health interventions to improve access and consistency of care for this vulnerable population. The study has undergone peer review and emphasizes the intersection of social determinants and mental health in adolescence. [Extracted from the article]
