Abstract
This article focuses on a cross-cultural comparison of cognitive test performance between adults in Cameroon and the United States. The study analyzed data from 250 Cameroonian adults and a matched American sample using selected subtests of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV) and the Stroop test, finding significant differences in cognitive performance between the groups. These results suggest culturally distinctive cognitive functioning and highlight the need to examine potential test biases in neuropsychological assessments across cultures. The findings emphasize the importance of culturally sensitive research and tailored clinical practices to better serve the Cameroonian population.
