Abstract
Subliminal intervention, which involves embedding messages below the threshold of conscious awareness, has gained widespread popularity on platforms like YouTube, especially among young adults seeking selfimprovement in areas such as mental well-being and emotional regulation. This study examines its effects on psychological well-being, mental health, positive affect, and negative affect through a mixed-methods quasiexperimental design. Atotal of 60 participants (18-22 years old) were divided into experimental (n = 30) and control (n = 30) groups. The experimental group listened to a subliminal audio intervention daily for 21 days, while the control group received no treatment. Standardized measures-including Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale, PANAS, and GHQ-12-assessed pre- and post-intervention outcomes. Paired and independent t-tests were used for quantitative analysis, and thematic analysis examined introspective reports. Findings revealed a significant increase in psychological well-being, mental health, and positive affect, alongside a reduction in negative affect in the experimental group, supporting its potential therapeutic application.
