Abstract

The article focuses on the impact of theatre interventions, such as psychodrama, on mental health outcomes and suicidality. Research from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia, conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 42 studies, revealing significant reductions in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder among adult participants involved in theatre interventions. Additionally, the findings suggested that these interventions may also help reduce symptoms of schizophrenia and psychosis in adults and lower suicidal ideation in adolescents. The research emphasizes the need for further high-quality studies to better understand the short- and long-term effects of theatre interventions on mental health. [Extracted from the article]
