Abstract
The article discusses the bankruptcy of Curaçao-based airline JetAir, which was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and increased competition from other airlines. The bankruptcy has left many passengers stranded, and efforts are being made to cover the capacity gap by increasing flights operated by rival airline WINAIR. The article also highlights the challenges faced by small island developing states (SIDS) in the Caribbean, including extreme weather events and high levels of debt. The creation of a Multidimensional Vulnerability Index (MVI) is proposed to assess a country's needs related to climate change vulnerability. Additionally, the article mentions the debt problem in Antigua & Barbuda and the measures being taken to address it, such as fiscal adjustment and debt reduction. [Extracted from the article]
