Abstract

The article discusses the sale of McKinlay's Footwear, a New Zealand-based shoemaker established in 1879 and currently the last general-purpose footwear factory in the country. Co-owned by brothers David and Graeme McKinlay, the company has been family-owned for five generations and produces 130-160 pairs of durable, resoleable leather shoes daily. McKinlay's has a strong market presence in school footwear and established export channels to Australia, the US, Europe, and Asia. The asking price for the business is 450,000 New Zealand dollars, with additional stock valued between NZ$150,000 and NZ$450,000, and there is an option to purchase the land and building as well.
