Abstract
AT&T and TPG are reportedly in talks to merge their DirecTV service with Dish, potentially creating the largest pay-TV provider in the US. The discussions are in the early stages, and no agreement has been reached yet. A merger between the two satellite-TV providers would result in a company with approximately 20 million subscribers. Both DirecTV and Dish currently offer online TV bundles in addition to their traditional satellite packages. The shift from pay TV to streaming has changed the competitive landscape and may affect the outcome of any potential merger. [Extracted from the article]
