Abstract

The article explores how serious mental illness can lead to social and religious exclusion, likened to a form of "de-baptism," and examines multidisciplinary approaches to addressing these challenges. Topics include the marginalization of mentally ill individuals within Church and society; the impact of policing and incarceration on people with mental illness; and innovative approaches combining theology, ethics, and mental health services to support vulnerable populations.
