Abstract

This article explores the issue of underutilization of Asian talent in leadership positions within American companies. Despite their high levels of education and representation in leading tech companies, Asians are the least likely racial group to advance to leadership roles. This not only wastes talent but also has a negative impact on corporate productivity. The article emphasizes the importance of understanding and adapting to cultural differences in order to create inclusive work environments and offers strategies for companies to better support their Asian employees. It also highlights the need for professional development opportunities that meet the unique needs of Asian employees, as traditional leadership programs often do not address their experiences and developmental needs. The article suggests that organizations should focus on helping Asian employees embrace their own identities while understanding and adapting to Western business norms, rather than trying to Westernize them.
