Abstract
The author ponders on the history of the gay-oriented magazine "Christopher Street." He looks back at the publishing industry's exploitation of gay subject matter and recalls writing about dance clubs and gay art exhibits for the magazine. He describes the magazine as a mix of articles on art, literature and fashion. He attributes the obsolescence of "Christopher Street" to the publication of the newspaper called "The New York Native" to keep up with developments in the AIDS epidemic.
