Abstract
Singapore authorities are still pursuing Malaysian fugitive Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. A recent deal with the US Justice Department to settle civil actions against Low and his family does not affect Singapore's criminal probe. Low has been charged in absentia and a warrant of arrest was issued in 2016. Singapore has obtained court orders to release some of the seized 1MDB-related funds to the Malaysian government, but a significant amount of assets remain seized or prohibited from disposal.
