Abstract
The article focuses on the Shift-of-Strategy (SoS) approach in interviewing suspects, which aims to encourage a change in their counter-interrogation strategies from denial to a more open demeanor. The study investigates how personality traits, including neuroticism, conscientiousness, extraversion, psychopathy, narcissism, and Machiavellianism, influence the effectiveness of this interviewing technique. Findings indicate that the SoS approach can enhance the consistency of information disclosed by guilty suspects, with varying effects based on individual personality traits. The research utilized mock crime scenarios and various psychological assessments to analyze these interactions. [Extracted from the article]
