Abstract
The US dollar has strengthened recently due to expectations of a less dovish US central bank and anticipated policies from President-elect Donald Trump's administration. The dollar index is set to gain 6.7% this year, reaching a two-year high. The yen has weakened against the dollar due to interest rate differentials between Japan and the US, with the dollar on track for an 11.4% return against the yen this year. Analysts predict that the yen may benefit from expected Bank of Japan interest rate hikes in the future. [Extracted from the article]
