Abstract

Therefore, this preliminary study was conducted to answer three questions: (1) How do local community members feel about the presence of Mount Kilimanjaro black and white colobus monkeys in Rau Forest Reserve? General attitudes of local community members towards Mount Kilimanjaro guereza Respondents' general attitudes towards Mount Kilimanjaro black and white colobus monkeys in Mandaka Mnono and Mabogini villages were mostly positive (66.1%). Positive community attitudes towards Mount Kilimanjaro black and white colobus monkeys in Rau Forest Reserve are a good sign for the future of this vulnerable guereza subspecies.
