Abstract

The article outlines the strategy used by social work researchers to navigate a university institutional review board (IRB) to develop a youth-centered research ethics training for youth participatory action research. It outlines the training components and examples of interactive youth-focused research activities. It discusses lessons learned from working with IRBs to prepare and engage youth as research partners, as well as the implications of the study for research and practice.
