Abstract

The article discusses the concept of Lean manufacturing and its challenges in sustaining long-term success. Lean manufacturing is a systematic approach to identifying and eliminating waste through continuous improvement. It involves letting go of preconceived notions and exploring new ways of accomplishing work. However, many attempts to implement Lean are not successful in the long run. Sustaining a Lean initiative requires new methods of management, including spending time on the production floor and observing work processes. It also requires a committed team and improved interpersonal skills for effective communication and conflict resolution. [Extracted from the article]
