Abstract
This article reports on a clinical trial conducted in Gyeongju, South Korea, evaluating the efficacy of a group logotherapy-based intervention called the life meaning promotion (LMP) program for middle-aged women with mild-to-moderate major depressive disorder. The randomized, single-blind controlled trial involved 38 women aged 40-59, comparing an 8-session meaning-oriented group therapy over 4 weeks to a no-intervention control group. Results showed that the LMP group experienced significant improvements in meaning in life, purpose, self-efficacy, quality of life, and reduced depressive symptoms, with benefits maintained at 8-week follow-up. The study concludes that the LMP program may be a valuable therapeutic approach for improving mental health outcomes in this population. [Extracted from the article]
