Abstract
The article focuses on research conducted in Leicester, United Kingdom, regarding the impact of concealment on the health of older lesbians and gay men. The study, utilizing constructivist grounded theory, involved eighteen participants aged 50 to 86 and explored their experiences of 'masking' and 'coming out.' Findings indicate that concealment can lead to significant psychological scarring, while supportive communities can foster resilience and transformation. The research enhances understanding of the challenges faced by older LGBTQ+ individuals in navigating societal oppression. [Extracted from the article]
