Abstract

The article reports on a presentation by Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) members Julianne Luttrell and Leah Scaramuzo at the 49th Annual ONS Congress on April 27, 2024 which described how nurse residency programs have been successfully implemented in urban and rural healthcare settings. Topics include the decline in initial competency of new graduate registered nurses (NGRNs), curricular provided by nurse residency programs, and benefits of nurse residency programs.
