Abstract

The article focuses on police officers' perceptions of body-worn cameras (BWCs) as tools for enhancing police accountability. Using survey data, the study examines how officers view BWCs in relation to the policies, training, supervision, and review (PTSR) accountability framework within their organizations. Findings indicate that after one year of BWC use, officers reported increased agreement that BWCs promote greater accountability. Additionally, officers recognized connections between the PTSR framework elements and the broader goal of accountability in their agencies.
