Abstract

The article focuses on the emerging use of pedagogical agents—virtual agents designed for educational purposes—in immersive media environments, a concept termed agent-centered learning in immersive media environments (ACLIME). It highlights a recent review that proposes a conceptual framework to analyze the technical and psychological factors influencing human-agent interaction in these settings, emphasizing the understudied role of temporal dynamics. The review aims to synthesize current knowledge on the potentials and risks of ACLIME and to provide a foundation for future empirical research and practical applications in immersive learning. This preprint has not undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
