Abstract

The article addresses the challenge of distinguishing genuine candidate abilities from AI-assisted responses during job interviews in the age of artificial intelligence. It recommends that hiring managers focus on evaluating five human skills that AI cannot replicate: reading social cues, reasoning through complex ideas, asking insightful questions, adapting to unexpected shifts, and collaborating effectively with others. Rather than attempting to detect AI use directly, interviewers are encouraged to design conversations and exercises that reveal candidates’ critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal competence. The article also suggests practical strategies such as group interviews and scenario-based questions to better assess these uniquely human capabilities. [Extracted from the article]
