Abstract

President Joe Biden's administration has published guidance for U.S. federal agencies to consider the benefits to human health and welfare provided by natural resources when making decisions that could harm them. Elsevier's parent company RELX has seen a 650% increase in its share price since 2009. A nonprofit called Every Cure will receive over $48 million to use artificial intelligence to predict the effectiveness of approved drugs against rare diseases. Geologists have rejected a proposal to classify the Anthropocene as an "epoch" due to disagreements over the start date. Chinese graduate students at U.S. universities have had their visas revoked and have been sent back to China, possibly due to a presidential directive aimed at preventing theft of U.S. technology.
