Abstract

The article focuses on the challenges facing volunteer policing amid limited resources, complex crime patterns, and declining participation. It introduces "Policing Together," a community-driven framework developed by an international team of volunteer officers, police leaders, trainers, professors, researchers, and consultants. This framework, informed by the 2024 International Symposium on Volunteering in Policing and the National Women in the Special Constabulary Conference 2024, aims to enhance volunteer engagement through diverse recruitment strategies and digital platforms. Emphasizing inclusivity and flexibility, Policing Together seeks to address systemic barriers while maintaining public trust and community resilience.
