Abstract

The article focuses on the impact of early childhood obesity on erectile function in young adult males, using a rat model to investigate this relationship. Male Wistar rats raised in small litters to simulate overfeeding showed increased body weight, adipose tissue, and mean blood pressure compared to normal litter controls. Functional studies of the corpus cavernosum revealed heightened contractile responses and reduced relaxation, indicating impaired erectile function linked to early overnutrition. The findings suggest that early childhood obesity may have lasting detrimental effects on sexual function in adulthood, potentially mediated by inflammatory mechanisms.
