Abstract

The article focuses on recent and reissued jazz albums, highlighting their historical and musical significance. It details the deluxe expanded edition of Vince Guaraldi Trio’s *Jazz Impressions of Black Orpheus* (1962), which features Guaraldi’s blend of Latin-tinged jazz and includes the Grammy-winning hit “Cast Your Fate to the Wind,” alongside previously unreleased tracks. Also discussed is Nick Mason’s 1981 solo album *Fictitious Sports*, a collaboration with avant-garde jazz composer Carla Bley that reflects Mason’s diverse musical interests beyond Pink Floyd. Additionally, the article reviews Julie London’s *Five Classic Albums* collection, showcasing her intimate vocal style across both small-group and orchestral settings from 1955 to 1961. Finally, it presents Kid Ory’s *Creole Trombone – His 44 Finest 1926-1959*, a two-CD retrospective offering a curated overview of the trombonist’s extensive career, and Kurt Rosenwinkel Quartet’s 1998 album *Intuit*, noted for its inventive interpretations of jazz standards and its first vinyl release in 2023.
