Abstract
Namibia's High Court has ruled that the criminalization of sexual acts between men is unconstitutional, marking a significant milestone for LGBTQ rights in the country. The ruling came as a result of an application filed by a gay Namibian man, who argued that the criminalization of gay relations violated citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms. The court found that anti-gay laws unfairly discriminated between men and women, as well as between gay and heterosexual males. While some African countries have recently sought to curtail LGBTQ rights, Namibia's ruling represents a positive step forward. [Extracted from the article]
