Abstract

The text explores the concept of the Duende, a form of energy distinct from the muse and angel, as understood by Lorca, and connects it to the figure of Tlazoltéotl, an earth goddess associated with passage and transformation. It reflects on themes of bodily inheritance, interiority, and the breaking open of physical and metaphysical boundaries, suggesting descent as a portal to other dimensions. The work references imagery from the Codex Yoalli Ehecatl (Codex Borgia), an ancient Mesoamerican manuscript, to contextualize these ideas within indigenous cultural symbolism.
