Abstract

The article discusses a theoretical framework for understanding intelligent agents, termed "intelligent Selves," through the lens of Buddhist epistemology and the concept of Diverse Intelligences. It proposes that these agents are defined by their perspectives on objects, which can include a variety of beings—evolved, engineered, or hybrid. The model suggests that these agents can respond to challenges with universal care, offering new insights into the nature of intelligence and pathways for the development of artificial general intelligence (AGI) that do not rely on biological evolution processes. The preprint is noted to be unreviewed. [Extracted from the article]
