Abstract

The article explores how modern cynicism dulls the ability to receive goodness and grace, using the themes of Lent and Easter to argue that openness, vulnerability, and gratitude are necessary to truly encounter joy and faith. Topics includes cynicism in contemporary culture, spiritual reflection during Lent and Easter, vulnerability and openness to grace.
