Abstract

The article informs about the 150th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) with a mixed reputation due to issues with racism and sexism, but it is still seen as a symbol of Canada and provides security and policing for numerous communities across the country. It mentions that the history of the RCMP dates back to the creation of the North West Mounted Police that has undergone significant changes including the acceptance of women and visible minorities.
