Abstract

The article focuses on a study examining the impact of cross-border migration on the well-being of school-aged children in Hong Kong and mainland China. Conducted by researchers from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the study analyzed a sample of 2,610 students, categorizing them into four groups based on their migration status. Findings indicated that New Immigrant Students (NIS) generally exhibited better mental health, resilience, educational outcomes, and interpersonal relationships compared to Hong Kong Local Students (HKLS), while Cross-border Students (CBS) and HKLS showed similar well-being indicators. The research highlights the complex and multifaceted effects of migration on children's well-being, contributing valuable insights to the existing literature on this topic.
