Abstract
The article focuses on Takotsubo syndrome (TTS), an acute heart failure syndrome characterized by reversible left ventricular systolic dysfunction, primarily affecting middle-aged women but also impacting men. It highlights that men with TTS tend to have a worse long-term prognosis and a higher prevalence of comorbid conditions such as diabetes and pulmonary diseases compared to women. Additionally, socioeconomic factors, including higher rates of unemployment and low family income among male patients, are associated with increased mortality risk. The article emphasizes the importance of comprehensive evaluations of both cardiovascular and non-cardiovascular comorbidities, along with psychological and socioeconomic factors, for effective long-term management of TTS patients.
