Abstract

The article discusses the complex religion-public health relationship that can cast both into opposing camps by politics. Topics covered include the weaponization of religious faith to attack science, the loss of trust in public institutions over the distribution of public health benefits, and the political practice of using scientific or religious arguments to serve its purpose. Also noted is the possible growth of public health collaborations into policies that respect distinctive roles.
