Abstract

This article systematically reviews scientific literature on social interventions (SI) for persons with disabilities (PWD) and their families, focusing on the evaluation of these interventions within the framework of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Using the PRISMA model, 19 empirical studies published between 2017 and 2021 were analyzed, revealing a predominance of community-based interventions, especially related to intellectual disability, with varied evaluation methods and a lack of standardized indicators. The review highlights significant gaps, including scarce evaluations, limited participation of PWD in research and coproduction, few intersectional analyses, and a need for more research on different life stages and vulnerable subgroups. Despite positive outcomes reported in the studies, the article concludes that systematic, homogeneous evaluation practices for SI with PWD remain underdeveloped internationally, particularly in developing countries.
