Abstract

A study conducted at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, focused on the feasibility and acceptability of collecting intensive biomarker and biometric data during a 96-hour field training exercise with Army Reserved Officer Training Corps cadets. The study utilized various wearable biosensors and remote biologic sample collection strategies to understand physiological and psychological stress. The research found that real-time biometric and biomarker sampling during field-based training is feasible and acceptable, providing insights for future interventions on military readiness, environmental stress, and recovery. The study demonstrated the potential for using these strategies in higher stakes tactical environments in the future. [Extracted from the article]
