Abstract

This article examines longitudinal changes in sexual function and quality of life among 66 infertile couples undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI). Using validated instruments—the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), International Index of Erectile Function–5 (IIEF-5), and Fertility Quality of Life (FertiQoL) questionnaire—the study found that women’s sexual function and quality of life improved during the IUI process, particularly in domains related to arousal, orgasm, and mind-body well-being. Conversely, a high proportion of men experienced erectile dysfunction throughout IUI, although their overall quality of life scores remained higher than their female partners’. The findings highlight the importance of addressing both partners’ psychosexual health during IUI, suggesting a gender-specific counseling approach to support couples through treatment.
