Abstract
This article focuses on the Las Vegas Military-Civilian Partnership (LV-MCP), a program designed to enhance the clinical readiness of Enlisted Medical Providers (EMPs) by enabling them to practice to their full military scope in civilian hospitals. EMPs, including specialties such as Aerospace Medical Service Specialists and Respiratory Care Practitioners, gain hands-on experience in high-acuity environments that are difficult to replicate in military treatment facilities. The program required legislative changes, institutional collaboration, and cultural adaptation to integrate EMPs effectively, including allowing unlicensed EMPs to work under nursing supervision. Over 566 EMPs have participated since 2022, demonstrating improved technical skills and decision-making, with the article advocating for broader adoption of this model and the development of objective measures to quantify EMP expeditionary readiness.
