Abstract

The article focuses on the college class "Introduction to Data in Social Context" offered at Virginia Tech beginning in spring 2017. The authors discuss the origins of the class, note that the class is cross-listed with the Department of Sociology and the Department of Science, Technology, and Society, and examine how the class navigates the intersection of moral imagination and Big Data.
